Smile Worthy [Byakuya Kuchiki Drabble]

[Name] stood in her room with her closet doors opened wide as her [color] eyes skimmed over all of the different articles of clothing that she had hanging up. She’d been here for a good ten minutes, trying to decide what to wear. No matter what people said, she still believed that it was hard to figure out what you wanted to wear even after you got engaged to someone.

Biting her lip, she reached forward and ran her fingers over a soft blue sundress that she owned, wondering if it would be the perfect outfit for the day.

“What are you doing?” questioned a voice from behind her and [Name] blinked, turning around to look at her fiancé as he stood by the door frame of their bedroom.

“Byakuya! I’m still trying to decide what I want to wear,” she said with a pout, knowing that he was probably getting annoyed with all of the waiting. Byakuya shook his head, his black hair moving slightly due to his actions.

“Does it matter?” he asked bluntly, walking to stand next to her. “Of course it matters,” she mumbled, turning back to look at her clothes. Byakuya turned his slate grey eyes to look over the clothes as well.

“Why does it matter?” he asked her, glancing at her out of the corner of his eyes. [Name] blinked before shrugging. “It just does,” she muttered.

Byakuya looked back at the clothes before reaching out and grabbing the same blue sundress that she had touched in contemplation earlier. “Wear this one,” he stated, handing it to her before turning to walk from the room.

A soft smile came across his lips as he left her to get dressed. If only [Name] knew that she didn’t have to try and make him smile; her being herself was all she needed.
